Dress Code

uk flag Dress code

In case there is any confusion as to the dress code, please find below a description of what black tie entails.

We have also included some photos, so hope this helps.

Gentlemen: Dinner suit, black or dark blue. Jacket with silk lapels, trousers with silk stripes down the side. White dress shirt, bow tie and (optional) cumberband. Black smart shoes. For those local to Marlow, Jolliffes will have suits to hire if needed.

Ladies: Long smart dress, although not ball gown (more associated with the dress code white tie). A shorter cocktail dress is also suitable, but not very short (i.e. mini skirt). Preferably in a dressy material, perhaps silk, satin, crepe or with beads. Suitable assessories are thin shoes and a small handbag, but not long gloves (associated with the dress code white tie).

Traditionally, women would not wear white or black outfits to weddings. But please note this only refers to all white or all black outfits.

Vi har fått en del frågor angående klädkoden black tie(smoking på svenska). För beskrivning av vad detta innebär, besök gärna Magdalena Ribbings spalt på DNs hemsida genom länken.
